A glowing review on the Squire’s Message Board by Robert Parker led me to buy a 3-pack of this wine to try. To echo Parker’s review, this does have a lot of melon, tropical fruit and pineapple nuances on the palate. The finish has a touch of greasiness (a trait I find in Bordeaux Blancs more than NZ or CA Blancs), but is very racy and lingering. Fans of powerful racy Sauvignon Blancs should seek this out. Although I like a sleeker, smoother Sauvignon Blanc, this is the most powerful one I’ve had to date. Give it a try with some sort of pineapple and shrimp recipe. 91

Does this wine hail from Napa? I'm not familiar with it.

Yep, it's very small. 750 cases produced, i think. Here's the website.

No need to bow, copilot. Jones is entitled to his opinion just as much as the rest of us. We may not always agree with him (I know I do not always 100% agree), but his opinion is, well, his opinion. C'est la vie!

TJ, I'm just kidding with Jones. I know there are quite a few Jones disciples on here, so I wouldn't want to offend the masses.

I'm not defending this wine. It's overpriced and too powerful for my liking. However, I willI defend my 91 point score because of the level of complexity, flavor, crispness, food pairing, and possible ageability. One of my favorite SBlanc's is the 2002 Babich (i gave it 88) because it's light, full of grapefruit, and easy drinking ... a style I enjoy in SB's. Fans of powerful gripping Blancs would find this wine interesting. It's atypical to the Cali SB's I have had in the past.

Jones, I would just like to know why you don't care for this? Or will it be in issue 2? I think it's a simple request.
