Well, these have not impressed much the last couple of releases.  And, the 07 also fails to impress.  Really not much going on here besides the fact that it is a nice summer drinker.  But, a bit expensive for a nice summer drinker that one would not go out of their way to obtain.  I am not sure I will be ordering these in the future.  The 1st release was a good one.  But, none after that one.

Rating: 85 points, drink now.

At $18 pb it probably isn't much more than a summer drinker.  Unfortunately with tax & shipping it is $24 pb in the door so this wine is in direct competition with other Roses that we enjoy.  Except for Tempier I really don't want to pay more than $20 for any Rose.

However, if you set out the KB Rose with a group of non-wino drinkers it will disappear at light speed.

This is probably already posted but:

  • 2007 Kosta Browne Pinot Noir Rosé - USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley (2/10/2008)
Tasted during a Kosta Browne Winery visit; This wine was a lighter color than previous vintages, slightly cloudy (not bottled yet??) and almost dry. M. Browne mentioned that this was lower alcohol than previous vintages. This wine is probably more similar to the 2005 than the 2006. (87 pts.)

I thought there was really a lack of any acidity in one I opened last week.

Based on Michael's comments about the wine I think something happens to it once bottled. We tried it back in Feb before it was bottled (the note above) and Michael was excited about how the wine was tasting at the time. I opened one at a pool party a couple of weeks ago and also found it lacking acidity. Less sweet than the previous year but not crisp.

Sounds a lot like the '06.
