| Green, pale straw, medium nose of wet stones, lemon zest, green pear skins, light nuttiness, light spice but a great accent with some great use of oak. Medium body, high complexity, high acidity and long length. Palate matches, lean, yet filling, crisp and crunchy with a very Puligny type characteristics. If every CA chard tasted like this I’d have a cellar full. The best Peay Chard I have had to date. 95-96pts. | | |

My apologies to Andy, Nick and Vanessa in advance for doing something so reckless as opening this bottle this quickly after receipt. This is my weak attempt and making a decision on whether to buy more before it is sold out. Here goes...

Tasted February 24, 2008. Opened and served immediately. Light yellow to yellow color in the glass, fairly clear hue throughout, with njust a tad of cloudiness at first pour. Soft, elegant nose that reminds me of a Puligny or Chassagne Montrachet with notes of soft brown spices including nutmeg, some notes of parrafin, wet stones, lemon and yellow pears. Flavors of lemon, quince and minerals nicely framed over a medium to long finish. Vibrant, palate cleansing acidity, medium body. Well integrated oak and very well balanced over all. Each sip leaves you longing for the next. Definitely one of the best Chardonnays they've made to date for my palate. Drink or hold. Should be a fairly long lived Chardonnay.

Light green, pale straw, medium plus nose of deep, ripe and rich apples, pear, spice, lemon custard and stones. Medium plus body, intensity and acidity. Elegant and composed, balanced. 92pts. (04/07)
Straw, green hints, powerful nose of creamy vanilla, spice, stones, citrus, raw nuts and orchard fruits. Full body, high complexity, high acidity with more spice, green and yellow apples, citrus, and cream. Full, round, lush, balanced. 92pts. (06/07)
Even though I have been ITB for a few years now I am in an area where I am meeting too many people on the production side to in good faith write tn. Not that the notes would be jaded by them but I don't feel like throwing up unsavory notes on peoples wines I know since it isn't what I do for a living.

| Eric...you won't be dissapointed. Took one to lunch the other day. Slightly hazy (not as cloudy as Aubert, which I was judging this against). Nose of lemon tart with a touch of oak. A bit hot on the palate, but it was served at cellar temp. After chilling for 20 minutes and opening up in the glass, the wine really came together. Citrus, butter, and sweet oak of medium intensity, on the palate, not as weighty as the Auberts but good viscosity, just the right amount of crisp acidity to balance the flavors. Medium plus finish. This is a good step above previous efforts, and in the comparison, held up well. Bravo! | | | |

92+; Clear light gold color; Shy on the nose with focused lemon and spice flavors and a long, aromatic finish. The oak seems more integrated than previous vintages at this point (++). Balanced with a crisp finish. Medium weight. This disappeared quickly once opened. Good-very good Cali Chard. (92 pts.)
