Clear, star bright, medium concentrated straw core with with green hints and a clear meniscus. Medium viscosity with a moderate, youthful nose of lemon oil, green apple, pineapple, faint fresh herbs, light spice and wispy smokiness. Dry, medium plus body, very round with elevated alcohol, high acidity, long length and moderate complexity. More green apple, tropical fruit, citrus zest with faint herbaceousness. Texturally and slightly in the flavor this seems like it sees some older oak, or spends sometime on its lees with some serious batonnage. The alcohol pokes out a little much for me (bottle served straight out of the cellar at 53 degrees) and I prefer a lighter, lower alcohol Sauvignon Blanc.  86pts.

Tasted some of the leftovers tonight. The alcohol is still there in spades, but the wine has become leaner and focused with a lot more gooseberry and grapefruit character. Would probably raise it a point or so, but how many SB do you decant or drink the following day?

Clear, brillant, pale straw with greenish hints. Delicate nose of lime, light grapefruit, green apple, wet stone and white flowers.  Medium body, moderate complexity, high acidity and long length.  Leaner and crisper without the lees/oak character. 89pts.

Have tasted three times now at the winery since my bottle last week.  This wine has showed completely different without the alcohol playing much of a factor and the woods/lees element non-existent.
