| 2006 Araujo Estate Sauvignon Blanc Altagracia - USA, California, Napa Valley (7/22/2007) WIML92,PURPLE91,NOWA,NOWS
Tasted July 22, 2007. Opened and served immediately in a Spiegelau Authentis Weiss Wein glass. Light straw color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of light grapefruit notes, tropical fruits and paraffin. Flavors of light gooseberry notes and grapefruit. Medium acidity, light to medium body. Absolutely bone dry. So different than the Eisele but equally good in it’s own right at half the price. Drink over the short term. (92 pts.) | | | Joe-----Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone. |

| I'm surprised at your rating and comments. I had a bottle a few weeks ago and found the wine to be extremely disappointing and quite poor. | | | |

| 2006 Araujo Estate Sauvignon Blanc Altagracia - USA, California, Napa Valley (5/25/2008) WIML91+,PURPLE89
Tasted May 25, 2008
Opened and served immediately. Light yellow color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of lemon and grapefruit that carry through to the palate with a bit more pronouncement of the grapefruit on the palate. Also some light notes of lime later on. Medium acidity and body. Drink over the short term. I'll finish my last bottle this year. PURPLE adds it's too tart. (91 pts.) | | | Joe-----Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone. | |

| Your notes are spot on. I had a bottle a couple weeks ago, it was very good, but these puppies do not last. | | | |

| Is the Altagracia labeled as Sauvignon Blanc or just white wine or something to the effect? I thought the Altagracia white was actually Sauvignon Musque or Sauvignon Vert? | | | |

| Jason, I just walked out to the cellar and look at my last bottle. It's labeled "Napa Valley White Wine". There is no mention of the varietals from which it is composed. | | | Joe-----Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone. | |

| The 2005 was a blend of 64% Sauvignon Musque + 33% Sauvignon Blanc + 3% Viognier. I believe the 2006 is comprised of a similar blend (which to me is certainly an interesting one!). The Musque probably helps to ensure aromas that are more pronounced than if it were comprised of straight Sauv Blanc. | | | |
