Pale straw, moderate nose of nuts, cream, smoke and pear.  Full body, moderate complexity, high acidity with vanillin, smoke, baking spice, pear and peach.  86pts.

I love the fruit, I just don't care for the oak in the wine and that reflects in my score.

I've noticed considerable bottle variation...

Six earlier bottles were all interesting and good as summer/seafood pours.  An additional six ( also ordered from website) have been somewhat different;  three "ordinary" lacking in fruit; then suddenly - tonight - one very good.

I'm not sure what's going on here;  could be me.  Could be me, paranoid;  as there were some some strange markings on the last 1/2 case shipped.

What kind of strange markings?

Markings looked like the box had either been at an auction site or retrieved from one.

While I never expected that you, the winery, would put inventory over on an auction site, only after noticing some variation did I wonder if the box might have made its way to another purchaser/been consigned/possibly retrieved and returned to Selene before making its way to me.

Obviously, being totally paranoid with that kind of thinking;  I know.  All of the box markings could simply be 'Fullfillment House Speak";  a language I don't know.

Finally, a further comment...  a few nights ago I grabbed another bottle from that box (the second shipment of six) and it was excellent;  back to what the first six, so quickly consumed, were.
