| Pale straw with green hints and a medium nose of orchard fruits, grilled nuts, citrus, stones and deftly used oak. Medium body, medium plus intensity and medium plus acidity. Palate matches, this has great length and balance. This is the fourth time I have had this now over the past few months and I am still impressed. This has lost a little of the burgundianess (nice word) that it showed when I first had it but still highly recommended and what I look for in CA chardonnay. | | | |

| 2004 Peay Vineyards Estate Chardonnay - Sonoma Coast, CaliforniaCloudy, golden hue color, with a nose of sunkist lemons and wet rocks. Fresh, invigorating entry of fine lemon pulp, green apple, asian pear and just a drop of tropical fruit flavors, all balanced with plenty of smoky acidity, fine minerals and an underpinning of lightly spiced oak. Stays sharp and focused throughout with a hint of lime appearing on the delicate, lingering finish. This should continue to improve with near term cellaring and hold up well for years. | EW, I usually don’t comment on color/appearance much these days, but the cloudiness of this wine was a treat to see and definitely sets the tone for what follows in this wine. Great stuff. | | | |

Agree with the lemon, green apples, tropical fruits as posted above by some. Crisp, full body, & very nice, a great chard. WS rated it 90 points. I think a couple of points under (my scale). Last night 92 points, not bad @ all. Drink oh hold.

| Well, I hit upon a bad bottle. Something was not right with this bottle. Nothing like the other 04s I've had. N/R. | | | |

Not possible LCC. Others have drank numerous bottles and never had a bad bottle of Peay. | | | Joe-----Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone.

| I just checked my notes. Over the past 4 vintages, I've consumed 51 bottles of Peay chard (so far), and there hasn't been a bad bottle yet. I have, however, had a bad bottle of 06 Peay viognier. | | | |

| Well, I hit upon a bad bottle. Something was not right with this bottle. Nothing like the other 04s I've had. N/R. The bad bottle of this Chard that I had was not obviously corked but it didn't really taste like wine either. Maybe pre-ox or something? Who knows? It tasted almost rancid. Ick. Contact the Peays, they will take care of it. | | | |

| Nah, it is only 1 bottle, it is ok. I am not going to bother with the 1 bottle. I've had probably 3-4 other bottles that were great. If I run into others, then I may contact them. | | | |
