Opened yet another bottle with friends last night before heading out to Oliveto for a fine meal. I've got Jones to thank for making me aware of this vino, and I cannot keep my hands off the stuff!

I think with this wine it's a love/hate thing, either you love the intense mineral, stoniness or you hate it - all but one loved it last night. I really enjoy pouring this for fellow wine lovers as well, the initial shock is always interesting to watch as this is not what one generally expects from a Viognier. The mineral notes shine through, and the floral aspects normally associated with this Varity takes a back seat. The wine is incredibly sharp, focused, and intense. An absolutely stunning bottle of wine.

$40 direct from the winery, I recently picked up several more bottles for $25 + buyers premium on Winebid.com

Its a great bottle of wine. Sadly, I only have a mag left. Drink up - this wine is not made for aging.

Is that what that was. Agree that it does not have a typical viognier nose (which I used to think was the only good thing about that varietal). But, this wine made me rethink what a viognier could be. Interesting minerality (is that a word?). Not quite the slate in a Mosel, but had the same kind of effect. Very nice, but you should have bought a squirrel (sorry, this wine reminded me of Kathy Bates in Rat Race).

Just red my post from last night. I'm definitely working too hard.

I had ordered one bottle from the winery to try- thanks for the notes-was waiting for the right occasion to try this one- I won't hold it too long. Any suggestions on what kind of food to pair it with?

This wine is pretty versatile, imo. It went extremely well the other evening with a spread of pates and goat cheeses. Works well for me as a starter on it’s own as well. I also think shellfish (not oysters, but shrimp, lobster, crab), and perhaps some Asian dishes as long as they are not too spicy.

I should clarify. I really liked the wine. But it is a little different and a little off the wall. Their PN was also very good. I'm impressed with their wines.
