This producer has recently spent alot of money on getting there marketing right and in recent times I have always found that wineries in NZ who've done this have often let a little go on the quality side. So I apprehensively took some of this wine to dinner with my folks last night. We had a BBQ in our back yard.

I am happy to say the wine didn't disappoint.

The colour was golden with lovely viscous legs. The nose was a mix butterscotch, melon, vanilla and peach all rolled into one. The palate was thick and oily, throwing the flavours around the mouth. Just as I thought it might be a little flabby, the acids kicked in livening the palate up. Bloody good stuff for $15 USD about. 89 points.

Nelson is producing better and better chardonnay, I recommend anyone out there interested in trying some Chardonnay from NZ outside of MArlborough and Hawkes Bay could do worse than going with Nelson.
