This wine is the first of Pinot gris that Selaks has done. They feel it will be the "new" cult varietal of NZ and I can see why. Pinot Gris now outsells Chard within NZ almost three to two domestically.
Montana , Villa Maria, Nobilos and some of the other big guys are following the lead of the smaller producers.

Drylands is the name for Selaks Marlborough entry level wines. They are very good across the board and I'm yet to find a poor wine under this label.

This wine retails for $20 NZD so about $10 USD

Colour: Lemon Straw with peach hints (? cor... sounds like a bouquet).
Nose: Peach and stonefruit (fairly typical), slight cheesy note (lees?) fejoa and passionfruit hints.
Palate: Really viscous and oilly. Nice balanced mouthfeel with excellent length. The fejoa dominates on the palate.
Overall: A good example of this varietal. 87 on the Jeremy Scale and a B+ on the QPR scale.
