I've been slowly supping on this all afternoon (now that I'm back drinking again.) as it is a lazy Sunday afternoon and the shop is dead (bloody school holidays!).

Peregrine is an Otago winery thats specialises in Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. ThePG isn't too bad either.

The colour was a lighter straw with peachy hues. Pear and honeysuckle were the most notable characterisitcs of the nsoe but some more minerally river stoney smells also showed through. The palate was a surprise with a very creamy eveloping texture reminiscent more of a big chard than a PG. While the texture was more Chardonnay like the fruit was considerably more mellow although well intergrated. Peaches came through more evidently and it seemed a little one dimensional on the palate. The length was impressive and bolstered by high alcohol which created a drying finish. 87 points. Not bad for $12 USD.

EDIT: For typo's.

Jeremy,

I have to admit to enjoying your "Sunday afternoon" tasting notes published while I'm enjoying a similarly-lazy Saturday afternoon.

We have been talking about traveling to NZ or AUS. It strikes me as funny that I can leave Memphis on a Saturday and arrive in Melbourne on Monday ... but if we leave Melbourne on Saturday afternoon at 16:20 we can arrive in Memphis on the same day, but twenty minutes earlier ... 16:00.

I love the international time/date line!
Cheers, y'all

The Peregrine is almost $20 in California. I thought it was ok but at that price point I didn't see any reason to back up the truck for the wine.

Stemor,
Gets to me to. I always lose time when I travel.

Jones,
For $20 USD I would definately avoid this wine.
