A small producer based in Hawkes Bay

The complex bouquet of this wine made it hard at first to put it into context. Forward plum and spicy oak initially dominated then as the wine opened up beautiful aniseed, cedar, leather and mocha notes all wafted through. It had a firm drying palate and was very enjoyable to drink. 89 points.
