The nose was tight and restrained with complex aromas of aniseed, leather and tobacco dominating. The palate was hard with big tight fine grain tannins that dominated the mouth. Length was impressively long, requiring olives to clear the palate after tasting this monster. It seemed closed down, but its potential with age was evident. 94 points.
