| Had this at a local tasting.
Typical Zealand Sauv blanc nose. Citrus, grapefruit, touch of grass... but oh so flat on the palate. Acidic and dull. Starts ok but then seems to fall off a cliff and leave an ugly metallic, acidic after taste. Tasted from two different bottles with same result.
Anyone else have this? Could my palate have been completely off last night? I am usually quite happy with the Crawford lineup.

| smaug, I've had this wine and really enjoyed it. I didn't find it dull at all. Btw, it is possible to have one's palate being completely off without having a head cold. ttepper and I were at a wine tasting a week ago and the first 5 or 6 wines tasted very bitter to me. Something was off with my taster. I also noticed a "plastic" taste to the first couple of wines.
If you get a chance to try Kim Crawford's Pinot gris, go for it. I liked it better than the Sauvignon Blanc.

| Actually I have had the Crawford Pinot Gris and liked it very much. Very different style than the oregon stuff I am used to, but very enjoyable. Actually reminded me a little of sauv blanc with the grapefruit in it.
Regarding the sauv blanc last night, I should probably try it again. I tried it once at the beginning and then from the second bottle at the end of the night (after all the reds). Tasted the same though. None of the other wines tasted unusual, although many of the whites also seemed flat and acidic on the palate. I chocked it up to not a real high quality lineup, but I may have had an off night.

| I don't ever remember acyually having what I'd call an off-night til last week. It may be that I did when we had one bottle with dinner and just chalked it up to a bad bottle. | | | |

| Mrs Duke and I had a bottle of this last night and we didn't detect anything metallic on the finish. I did taste a slight phenolic note on the fore-palate right out of the bottle, but it blew off immediately. The wine was nothing stunning. Probably a mid to high 80s wine. | | | Heater Allen Brewing - www.heaterallen.com | |

| I would put this one in the 86p range, it was good but not as good as the other NZ SB's I've had this summer. | | | |
