| Pale yellow, with strong grapefruit aromas. Overly tart and grassy with a thin finish. 86 PB Points.
I would have to taste them back to back, but I think I liked the '03 better. | | | Brad (formerly know as PilotBrad)
|

| Interesting - I thought I read in one of the forums here that the '04 from NZ was going to be a good harvest.
Maybe it's just the youth of the wine? Was it recently released?

| SJU,
Yea, I was surprised. It is my understanding that it was just released. I was kinda funny seeing 2004 on the label... just doesn't seem right. The flavors were really bright and harsh IMO (and I love SBs from NZ). I will try it again in a few weeks to see if I get similar results. | | | Brad (formerly know as PilotBrad)
| |

| That's too bad. You know, coming from Canada and knowing that Vincor bought Kim Crawford, I'd just as soon blame them. Joking aside, maybe they made some changes at the winery? Hard to say, I've never really looked into. Oh well, best of luck on the next opening! | | | |

| Yup - most stuff in Vincor's portfolio is awful, so I wouldn't be surprised! Actually, I don't recall the last thing from their lineup I actually liked. | | | |

| Perhaps this wine may benefit from a little quiet time in the bottle. Between bottle shock and travel shock, it may be a bit premature to give this wine a fair assessment.
I'd like to see how it's doing in 3 months.

| Hopefully this wine just needs some time to settle down. Same observations made here. I have really enjoyed the last couple of vintages of Kim Crawford SB's, so hopefully they didn't drop the ball this year. | | | |

| I haven't even seen this anywhere around here yet. Had the 2003 the other day and enjoyed it well enough. | | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com | |

| I finally got around to opening another, and I must say the second go around with this wine was much better that the first. Fresh fruit, grassy, the right amount of acid... a very pleasant drink. None of the fragmented characteristics I got with the first bottle.
Maybe I had the first one too soon, maybe it was an off bottle, or maybe I had an off tasting day, but I thoroughly enjoyed this bottle. | | | Brad (formerly know as PilotBrad)
| |
