This wine is very terroir influenced indeed, with typical power that Martinborough vineyards often carry. However this power is often tempered with austere fruit characters and more meally notes, as opposed to lush full fruit that Hawkes Bay produces. In other words this is the wine of iron fist silk glove material.

This wine is yet to be bottled as this was a barrel sample.

Colour: straw gold
Nose: Burgudian influences, with solid lees cheesyness and meally notes, with hints of stonefruit and particularly peach.
Palate: solid oak/charcoal notes are evident. Good silky delivery of flavours, but a little simple at this point, but with bottling and age will develope wonderfully.
Overall:A wine to watch out for in the future great fruit and wonderful textures evident , but still a little one dimensional at this stage, but the potential is obvious.
