2002 St. Clair Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc (NZ) -- very pale, almost clear, in color; a reticent nose opened up after a few minutes to reveal gentle scents of lime and spice; very light in the mouth, with a clear mango flavor against a background of guava and lime marmalade, no asparagus or grassy elements, very clean fruit; surprisingly long finish. I love the contrast between the lightness and the concentration which only becomes apparent on the finish. Not muscular, but delicious. Price here is C$20, so should be under US$15, well worth trying. 90 pts.
