  • 2004 Craggy Range Sauvignon Blanc - New Zealand, North Island, Wairarapa, Martinborough (10/8/2005)
What a nice bottle. Not in your face at all, and there was plenty of stuff going on in this bottle. It had some nice tropical fruit action as well as some citrus and apple, but what was really cool about this wine was that it also shared some nice stoney components as well as faint spice character. Much more nuanced than I'd expect from a NZ SB. Very nice. (89 pts.)

Sorry! It was the Te Muna. I really liked it. I need to go pick up more of it. I could be happy drinking this as a go to house white for some time.

I tried that wine recently also and thought it was a particularly good NZSB, another which I rated a little higher was the TeMata SB, have you tried this one yet?

I do not think I have seen that one around these parts. But I'll keep my eyes open for it. Thanks for the tip!

Regarding the Te Mata, was it the Woodthorpe or the Blank Castle Hill?

Ohhhh. Excellent. I just added that to CT so I could get it on my buy list. Thanks!
