| Anyone ever hear of The Rosengarten Report ??? Supposed to be about the best food anywhere and everywhere. $40 a year for 10 newsletters. Mrs. TJ read about it on Roadfood.com I believe. Curious if any here have heard of it or not. Opinions? | | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com |

| I received a subscription to this newsletter as a gift a few years ago. While it is not perfect, I'm still a subscriber today on my dime. More for foodies than oenophiles however. The Art of Eating is a better food journal imo but is more serious in tone and content. | | | |

| I assume this is David Rosengarten, who used to have his own show on the Food Network.
I thought his show was one of the better ones, with good explanations of why some flavors and textures worked well with each other (not just a cooking demo). He also recommended accompanying wines sometimes. I don't know why the show disappeared. FWIW, I found him to be way above average in culinary knowledge and skill. | | | |

| Thanks for making this known. I just subscribed for my wife as I have turned her into a person who now loves to cook and read about it as well. | | | "Everyday is worthy of a glass of sparkling wine" - Andrea Immer MS | |

| I've liked Rosengarten in the past and so subscribed.
All in all there has not been enough of interest to make me renew when that time comes around. Emphasis has been mostly on his "discoveries" of obscure or less readily available ingredients. Often the issues are themed; i.e. chocolates or cheeses. In the last few months he's been pushing arrangements he's made with suppliers to send out - clublike - selections of products along the lines of a fruit or cake-of-the-month club.
None of this appeals to me, personally, and is not what I subscribed for. Too, it has caused me to question his objectivity more than I wanted to.
