| I am thinking of throwing an Aussie Shiraz at it. Opinions? Should I drink it instead? | | |

| I was thinking Zin as well. It's great w/ grilled meats, including BBQ sauce assuming its the traditional kind. | | | |

| Thanks, got these posts after the dinner, so I will try next time. Used the '02 Kirkham Peak Shiraz and it was a really good pairing. The wine by itself was a bit hot, but velvety smooth tannins. Nice licorice aromas blended well with the sauce. Wine gets an 84, the bird got an 89
Again, thanks for the help, I have to scrounge my cellar for whatever Zins I may have. I don't tend to drink them too much. I think I have a pretty decent Grgich Hills left.

| Watch out ormbee, Board-o might start preaching of his favorite young drinking varietal -- Zin. He will set you straight -- even if I am not yet a convert (not that I don't like Zin, I love it, but I can't find the good stuff some of the folks here chat about. Ah well, so much wine, too little time. | | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com | |

| Same problem here. I tend to get a lot of really hot zins. This '99 Grgich Hills has been really good, but I am on my last bottle. Haven't tried any of the Rosenblum yet. Ranch Zabaco has been an ok cheapy. Haven't had much luck with Ravenswood. If Board-O wants to set me straight, I am willing to listen. I thought Savannah-Channelle did a decent job also | | | |

| Ormbee,
A little off subject, but I'm planning on doing a 2001 Monte Rosso Zin tasting at a BBQ later this summer. I've got Rosenblum, Trinity Oaks and Robert Baile lined up so far, keep an eye out, we'd love to have you over. | | | Paul Romero - Owner/Winemaker Stefania Wine<br>www.stefaniawine.com
