| It looks like we are having the typical Christmas dinner at our house:
Spiral cut ham Christmas pie Curried fruit Sour cream mashed potatoes Green bean salad
Question is, what wine to bring?
Suggestions? I am leaning toward a Pinot Noir, but my wife wants me to bring a Merlot too.

| TJ,
I wish I knew. They just sent me the menu. I do know that there are lots of pies for dessert. (mincemeat pies, apricot braid, cranberry bread, etc.)

| The age-old Mrs. TJ Great-grandmother recipe for Mincemeat Pie turned out to be quite amazing. I still have plenty of it to eat. heh heh heh Let me know what the heck the Christmas Pie is when you see what it is, then, ok? Sorry, I am no help ont he vino. But, could you ever go wrong with a Pinot? I think not! | | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com | |

| I think I'm experiencing a bit of deja-vu. I could've sworn we discussed this last year, but I have no idea what the suggestions were. | | | |

| TJ,
According to my Mom, the Christmas Pie is also an Easter Pie. It consists of 4 cheeses, ham and salami in a short crust. Kinda like a kiesh I guess. Makes the Pinot sound like the right choice.
What the heck, I'm taking a case of assorted wines out of the cellar down anyway. Something will work.

Absolutely not! Burgundy and ham is a classic pairing. | | | 2008: the end of an error

| What's up with you guys? Not a Vernatsch lover in the house. I vote for the very tasty Sudtirol St. Magdalener from the Kelleri St. Magdalena. They eat a lot of ham in Alto Adige you know. | | | |

| If it is like one of those Honey Baked hams the thing is injected with 200 proof sugar and then dipped in caramel sauce. Then some people put the sweet-hot mustard on it.
I'd go with Champagne or beer.

| I've got a challenge...
My host will be serving "curried ham".
What the hell can I do with that? My only idea was a big jammy pinot, like an 02 Loring?
