| Growing up, Wonderbread was my bread of choice. But I have to admit, I don't remember being offered anything else.
During college, I had some natual and organic stuff that didn't make a dent to my memory. After college, I moved to SF, and became entralled with Columbo Sour Dough. Unfortunately, like most business these days, the SF sour dough bakeries have all combined to make one big company. As a result, the sour dough bread tastes all the same to me.
My current favorite is Acme Pan le Vain, from Berkeley. Truly the staff of life. When it is done right, it has a burnt toastiness to the crust. Great with olive oil and balsalmic vinegar.
I'm curious to know what bread you like, and where you get it.

| Acme is great. I also like Grace Bakery's Pugliese bread.

| Manhattan has a lot of places for good bread. But, NJ does not @ all. I get my bread when looking for good bread @ Whole Foods. | | | |

| Acme is of course a great source for breads. When in San Francisco, I buy Acme. When in Napa Valley, I buy Bouchon. Bouchon is even better than Acme imo. | | | |

| Unfortunately, we have a real shortage of good bread bakeries here...Very hard to find a good baguette or classic, chewy sourdough. | | In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is...
