My wedding anniversary is this week and I am planning an intimate picnic.
Any suggestions for cheese and wine pairing? What else would make a good combination? My husband will scoff if there isn't something substantial for him to eat too!
My husband does not like dry wines, his taste is a little sweeter.

I would do some fromage d'Affinois and champagne. For your husband, make a cold pasta. Congrats.

A younger Pinot Noir, one that's more fruit forward, paried with Manchego, Vella Dry Jack, or Humboldt Fog.

For something heartier, Reggiano Parmesan and Amarone.

Somewhat lighter, Humbolt Fog or Montenebro or another soft-ripened goat cheese, perhaps with ash, with a lighter Pinot Noir or with an Alsatian... Gewurtz or Tokay Pinot Gris... could actually probably do a dryish Muscat, too. Or a really high end Soave, even.

Every thing was excellent!! My hubby loved almost everything! He lovingly nicknamed the Humboldt Fog, "ass-cheese." I don't think we'll be getting that again! Thank you for your help!
