pre dinner drinks @ the belgium bar, next door and part of the hop devil grille saw me with a $7 affligem triple and a $7 allagash dubbel reserve. yummy stuff.

wine bars suck. so with that, we had a $7 2004 castillo de almansa garnache(nice) & a $12 2002 powers cab sauv(not so nice) at ten degrees. also had a very small plate($12) of beeler gruyere which kicked ass. but ultimately, nothing to see here.

next up was margarita's and catfish/jalapeno tamales from la palapa(east village location). certainly nyc doesn't do mexican food justice, but i've found a handful of decent, authentic places and this place rates high on the list.

ended the night with frites from pommes frites with garlic mayo & curry ketchup dipping sauces.

excellent.

Last night:
Cincinatti chili (spaghetti topped with chili and cheddar cheese) I love chili and I love spaghetti...but they should not be eaten together.

For lunch:
Spaghetti tossed with shaved pecorino, a dash of EVOO, chopped basil, and a sprinkle of red pepper.

Tonight:
Iceberg lettuce salad with sliced tomatoes and cucumbers with LF honey dijon
Spaghetti with marinara made with fresh basin and garlic bread

My BFF bought this huge chocolate decadent cake that has been calling me from the fridge...but I don't want to ruin my workout today by eating it Decisions, decisions...

I love spaghetti noodles too. However, chili is better with tortilla chips or crackers.
