Looking at the "what cheese" thread got me thinking....

I eat lots of cheese, and I have found a very wide range of prices on comparable cheeses between markets in the same area.

I'm sure producers and suppliers vary greatly, but here are some of the best prices I get on some of my favorites:

Parm. Reg. - $11.99 /lb
Gorgonzola Picante - $9.99 /lb
Hudson Valley Camembert - $16.99 /lb
La Tur - $16.99 / lb
Local fresh mozzerella - $6.99 /lb
3 yr aged gouda - $8.99 /lb

Any good deals? Any really bad deals? Any other cheeses I should get instead for the money??? What is everybody else buying and paying?

The Hudson Valley cheese line seems to get a premium price. Check the date on the bottom of La Tur carefully. I've found outdated La Tur is good markets. If I want ammonia, it's cheaper in a jug.

I rarely pay attention to the per pound price as I buy very small blocks of various cheeses. But on a good cheese eating week, I spend $10 on cheeses.
