Yep, and I like Franzia better than Caymus.
We have some red pepper sauce with serano chiles, cilanrtro, etc. etc. that will make you throw that Ragu away in a heartbeat. | | | |

| All kidding aside, BellaDonna, I would love to hear which jarred sauces you prefer. Maybe there are some out there that are good. Lord knows, no one on this board has tried them all. That said, I make my own and freeze it. I have spoiled my wife and daughter and they cannot eat jarred sauce. But it never hurts to have a well-stocked pantry of ready-to-eat food, especially when you have kids, and your kids' friends over the house. So far, I have found nothing that I would buy a second time. But I'm willing to try something new. | | | Beta testing a new signature. | |

I think that is nuts.
That said, I have a few bottles of the stuff in the cupboard for when I am feeling lazy. My problem is finding ones without HFCS in it.

I've tried many jarred sauces from the $1 to $15 range.
Francis Coppola: blah, didn't taste like tomatos, very bland, where are the spices? Pass.
Napa Valley Bistro (or something like that): had more flavor than the Francis Coppola sauce but not much better. Pass
Ragu: you can taste the added perservatives and sugar. Pass
Classico: a step under the Ragu (can taste less sugar and perservatives) Not impressive. Not worth the calories per serving. Cheap tasting. Pass.
Alessi: authentic tasting, ingredients are simples (such as tomatoes, salt, basil, olvie oil -not exact ingredients, just an example). $3-4/small bottle. My preferred brand.
Dean and Deluca (Vodka sauce): nice, somewhat creamy, very good. Buy. | | | |
