| ...any time you're in the area to come over to try out my new panini press.
It's from All-Clad, and it's not the George Foreman grill type. It doesn't plug into anything. It's basically a griddle with a heavy lid. And it makes the best panini EVER. OMG.

| Yessir. A little EVOO on the pan and on the bread, and go to town. Lately I've been making them with Italian coldcuts and mozzarella and roasted red peppers. | | | Visit The Butcher Block at http://www.butcherblocktampa.com/ | |

| If you are interested in an electric one I have the one from Williams Sonoma and recommend it. Just about any sandwich tastes better when cooked on a panini maker. Yummayy. | | | |

| Another kitchen gadget I have to have now. thanks a lot. Of course, I think you could just get some sort of heavy object (like another pan) to press on your sandwich while grilling (and then use a regular grill pan). | | | |

| My parents bought one from Flama - they recommended it over many other brands because you can remove the nonstick plates after use and put them in the dishwasher (or wash them by hand easily). Many brands don't have this feature. I'm going to put it on my Christmas list this year. It can be found at www.surlatable.com as well as other places. | | | |

| I've been looking for something like that for a long time. As a huge fan of properly grilled panini, I have improvised many times with all sorts of "weights" such as foil wrapped bricks, stacks of books, etc. It's so much fun to get creative at building your panini layering whatever sounds good such as thinly sliced onions, herbs, roasted peppers, sliced olives, various meats, cheeses, and condiments, etc. Yum. | | | |

| Mario Batali just came out with a line of cookware and he has one of these in the lineup. He also has a great idea, small bowls designed for liquid measurements. All fit inside each other, marked for critical measurements (2 per bowl) and $9.95 to boot. Took about 8 seconds for us to get a set. Great stocking stuffer for Christmas 2005 for the cooks on your list. Advertisement over. | | | |

| You should get the Grilled Cheese cookbook. Far from just grilled cheese recipes, the book has an entire section on panninis. | | | |
