It sounds wonderful. Did you have some of the local vino or a local cerveca as the (restaurant) name implies? | | In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is...

| But of course! We had 2 x 2006 Martín Códax Albariño Rías Baixas, which went well with the fish dishes (especially) and some of the peppers. Last night's Embruix was the hands-down winner, although I've got a good 6 bottles to go through before we leave for Madrid on the 23rd :-D
Foodwise, last night was pretty low key - I stopped at a couple of butcher shops and picked up a bunch of jamon/fuet/salami, grabbed some fresh baguettes and a bunch of manchego and ate for two hours. Tonight, we're roasting up a chicken we picked up at the market with some goat cheese and basil. Really bizarre to actually buy the WHOLE chicken and have them hack the head off and cut it up into pieces for you! | | | |

| BBQ'd some chicken breasts
and what turned out to be great sauce for them:
garlic browned in olive oil
cumin
chipotle pepper
red wine reduction (from a variety of weekend leftover wines)
honey
worchestershire
a little tomato paste
black peppercorns crushed
salt and a bit of paprika
thick cut potatoes tossed with olive oil (fragrant anomaly!) garlic and black pepper
fresh asparagus

| A first for me:
Nilgai refrigerated over night in milk & seasonings. Jaccarded before marinating in lemon and homemade bar-b-q sauce. Barely seared on edges and fast fire grilled. Very medium rare.
Excellent!!!!! | | | |
