| Any recommendations for a wine pairing that would go well with a creamy spinach dip? I'm sure you all know the one ... it's served in a hollowed out pumpernickel round loaf, with the extra bread for dipping. I'm assuming something white with good acidity would be needed to cut through the creaminess of the dip. A Riesling or Gewurtz, perhaps? If a varietal and region could be suggested (with maybe a couple specific wines), it would be appreciated. The reason I ask for a more generic response is because the lovely LCBO most likely won't have many of the specific wines suggested.
Thanks! | | |

| I don't think anything goes very well with creamy spinach dip. I would pour whatever innocuous white with decent acidity you have on hand. Sauvignon Blanc or Chenin Blanc would be the two varietals I would look for first. Nothing with oak. | | | |

| I would tend to agree with Jones on this one. I don't really think anything would go (well, or even at all) with spinach dip. But, do try and let us know if yu find something that worked.

| Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll pass this information along to the person who is bringing the dip and the wine for that app, and see what she comes up with. I will definitely report back with how the pairing worked out on the 8th. | | | |

| Just wanted to let everyone know that a Corbans Wines Mueller-Thurgau SB was paired with the spinach dip, and it went pretty well. The acidity really cut through the creaminess of the dip. I think it did a decent job for what was a tough task to pair. Check the NZ TNs forum for notes on the wine. | | | |
