| Having last tasted this about a year ago and feeling it would have changed with a little bottle age, I find tonight exactly the same wine I had tasted a year ago. Dark clear ruby in color with burnished orange edges, the nose displays some overripe aromas of prune and cooked fruit, along with cherries, earth, and pine. On the palate this wine is almost spritzy, with surprisingly high acidity, pleasant fruit, and little tannic structure. Overall a pleasant wine, and interesting for it’s sheer difference in style. 85 points, drink over the next 2 –3 years. | | | 2008: the end of an error |
