N/V Benjamin Australia Tawny Port -- absolutely delicious. Spice cake nose; lots of caramel, toffee, orange rind flavors; good acidity, not cloying; long finish. 17.5% alcohol, no heat. (Similar in intensity and quality to Chambers Rosewood Muscats or Tokays, if that helps give some perspective.) From Mildara Blass.

This landed in Ontario a few weeks ago so I tried it, naturally....

I liked it well enough until the aftertaste kicked in. I found it bitter, almost metallic. I tried it repeatedly over a few days and it was the same each time, though others did not find the same thing.

But yes, the bottle was lovely, like a Hershey's Kiss.

How 'bout a move to the Dessert wine section for this one?

I'm guessing that you had a later blend/bottling, bman, given the year that's gone by since I had this wine. Your comment regarding a metallic taste makes me wonder whether there's a problem with the wine you had.

I hope the alcohol in it helped you get through another remarkably cold Ontario day, at least. I drove to a Superbowl party with the top down yesterday.
