Hi guys, long time no see (for me, at least, since it's been ages since I was last here...

I thought I should post this TN here first, since it was from Revlis. This is the bottle I got in the June 15 grab-bag. No doubt it was the McDonald's bag that surrounded it that attracted me....

We love Aussie shiraz, the bigger the better, with red meats at least. We had this with broiled lamb loin chops. It was not as big as I'd expected, but was still good, and a good match. I tasted blackberries initially, with some sour cherry on the finish. Tasting it blind, I might have thought it was an Aussie cab or a gigondas. The finish was medium length. I'd score this bottle 87 points.

Thanks again Revlis, and I hope to find more time to post here, now that football is almost over and I'll be re-surfacing on Sundays!

You guys are making me blush....

Revlis - it was good and we enjoyed it. It was especially nice to have something that is not available here in our pitifully limited market. No regrets at all. Is it possible I let it age too long?

FYI, a few months ago someone on the WS forums asked for advice on buying the 99 vintage, I think it was, and no one had ever heard of the wine. Again, nice to have something uncommon.

Hey bman, curious how long you let it decant? I remember this needing at least a couple hours, but again that was nearly two years ago. I don't remember to tell you the truth what my recommended drinking window was... hmmm.. I was quite the novice too back then, but I don't remember it being a huge fruit bomb anyway.

Well I'm definitely happy you are happy. hehe.

I don't really recall but we almost never decant any big red for less than an hour, and then we take at least a couple of hours to drain the thing, so that was probably covered.
