| I opend this wine after opening a corked 1999 Pegau CDP . Out of the gates the wine showed a wonderful nose of black currants, smoke, vanilla, and spice. Super dark and concentrated black/purple color. Tasting revealed nice extraction and gobs of black currant with licorice and loads of spicy vanilla. Full-bodied mouthfeel quickly gives way to a hollow midpalate then a sweet oak laced finish that lasts for 15-20 seconds. Needs a year or so to flesh out and come into balance. 88-89 points | | |

If you're lucky, you can get your money back on the Pegau. We opened a bottle of the 99 at the Vino Con Brio tasting, and it is shutting down hard. Better to get the money back than commit infanticide.
Back on topic: I will let the S2 sleep, thanks for the notes.

| We just bought 3 bottles- opened one Sat night. Definately more complex, polished and intense than the regular Cab- I agree with Seek's notes above- I'd give it a 90-91, I also got chocolate and mint notes on the finish. Unfortunately we paid 23.99 a bottle... but still a good wine for the $$. | | | |

| Seek1: I also paid about $18.00 (3 or 4 bottles). Would you stick with 3 or 4? Or, given a chance, Buy more @ about $18.00? | | | |

| Sorry LCC, I must have missed your post. I have one bottle remaining and that is where it will stay. I might want to pick up one more to have for a few more years out beyond my next one, but that would be the limit. Just another $20+/- bottle of wine with decent quality. | | | |

| Parker gave this a 93. And, it is doing OK in the secondary market. Buying a few could make sense. | | | |

| Had this one yesterday. Opened for 5 of us so didn't get much of a sample. Let me start by saying I didn't decant and the wine was actually a little on the colder side probably 55-57 degrees which I think muted the wine a little and it perked up as it warmed in the glass. Concur with seek, Dark wine with nice fruit, vanilla and spice with a long sweet finish. I would give this one 90-91pts, and definitely 3-4 pts better than the regular cab which has more minty notes and not nere the layered flavors of this one. I think a good buy for under $20. | | | |

| Finally tried one of my four bottles of this last night. Very well done, but not worth the 93 pts RP gave it. I thought it was an 89 with a chance to crack 90 with some bottle age. Still a great value though. Parker may have overrated all the MP wines, but it is hard to argue with the QPR they provide.

| We opened our first btl of this on Friday night, tasted after 2+ hours in the decanter. No formal notes as this was a social occasion, but imo Parker was right on the money with this one - worth every one of those 93 points and every one of thos $19.00 I paid. Glad I have 13 more in the cellar | | | 2008: the end of an error | |

| This was rated by Wine Spectator in the last issue. They called it a 90. It appears that this forum agrees with Harvey.
HS also rated the "9", he gave it 93 points.
