Not usually a big fan of Lindemans in general, but for $6 I figured it was worth a shot. Very dark, clear purple, the nose shows good berry notes that are surprisingly short on the palate. Quite tart, with moderate tannins and not a tremendous amount of fruit, quite atypical for an Aussie Shiraz. Finish is slightly drying and short. Even for $6 there are better values available. 82 points, drink now.

I wonder what WS was tasting when they said with a score of 88 “Dark and rich, chewy with deep cherry and sweet spice flavors, which last on the plump, nicely balanced finish.”

Intense garnet red, almost opaque. Vanilla, cassis, spice, raspberry, and cream on the nose. Full-bodied, opulent wine with vanilla, cassis, pepper, plums, and raspberry flavours. 30-40 second finish with just a touch of pencil lead. Score - 88 points. (08/02/2003).

Maybe you had an off bottle? I agree with the WS88 and would buy more if I could find it. I had this at a friend's place, and I think I recall him mentioning that the current vintage here in Ontario is 2000 or that the '99s are all gone. Something like that.
