as most of you know i rarely post tn's on anything so here goes nothing. this wine is awesome. the color is as dark as night and the nose is gorgeous. on the taste there is a lot cassis and deep dark currants. parker is right i get a hint of licorice and the oak is subdued. a little hot on the aftertaste, due to the 15% alcohol. this is a keeper in my book. parker claims ageability around 15 yrs but also said who can hold on that long. i probably won't be able to either. 96pts solid, my WOTM.

actually as this wine opens up i would be willing to go 97 points. i am liking this even more than the integrity we had earlier this year but not as much as the grange. i can't wait to taste the 01 dead arm as a comparison.

This is the Cabernet, right? I'm getting corn-fused with all these comparisons to Shiraz ...
Cheers, y'all

AI... I agree. I decanted this for about 4 hours before trying, and it started to open up 2 or 3 hours later.
I also found that as it warmed to room temperature, the heat was more noticeable. 5-10 minutes in the fridge did wonders!

I put this into a wide mouth pitcher this morning at 8:30 am. Down in the basement which is 63 degrees. I figure I'll get home about 2:00 pm and pour it back into the bottle and cork it. Then start pouring around 7:30 pm. The guy at the wine store where I got this said to decant for 10 hours!

Everyone made fun of me when I said the 2001 MP #9 needed 12 hours. hehe.

Oh look, another Sparky wine that needs lots of time... :-)

I agree about the heat... drink this one on the cooler side.
