| Big and bold dark fruit. Huge nose of dried jam compliments this teeth stainer. Recommend decanting 90 min+. MP 90. | | |

| i drank this over two nights with consistent notes. i did notice a huge blast of dill for about the first hour. it then blew off, but both nose and flavors were dominated by the dill. some fennel on the nose and chocolate and spice on the finish. a very good wine for the money, but a little less oak would have been better. drink up before the oak overtakes the fruit. me87 | | | |

| unless you like piclkles and 2 x 4's in with your wine, i would drink it now. i just cannot see the fruit keeping up with the oak. | | | |

| Ok, I'm revisiting the cab.. i drank half a bottle a week and a half ago, and saved the other half in a half bottle with the cork pushed in far enough so no air was in the bottle. Although about 1/4 seemed to evaporate somehow. Put it on the counter in some 80 degree indoor days.
The nose is letting the dark fruit through better. On the palate that weed is gone (ojeffso called it dill), but now to me it's just dill now. Definitely heavily oaked.. now it's more extracted and more enjoyable and the typical sparky marquis style is coming through. Perhaps I shouldn't have kept this on the counter though.. The aftertaste is really detracting from this wine. 84pts.
I'll try the 1/2 bottle of shiraz I have on the counter (from the same time) and see if anything bad happened to that also. | | | If you drink wine, you get smarter....

| i have to agree with mudpuppy on this one...after about 1-1/2 hours in the decanter this really started to sing. Very jammy dark fruits with chocolate and coffee. I did not detect the dill or weedy character that others found....even when first opened....maybe off bottles??? Not nearly as extracted or over the top as the shiraz and sarah's blend (which I did enjoy very much). Seemed to be more in balance. Did not detect the heat that is present in the shiraz and sarah's. Tannins were very soft and integrated. Great wine for the money. 89+ points. | | | |

| Huh. That's interesting emottram. I'll have to open another couple over the next few months.to see if I find anything different. Thanks for the TN and glad you found a good QPR for yourself. | | | If you drink wine, you get smarter.... | |

| i have to agree with emottram, the alcohol is not as bad in the cab as the SB when drunk at room temp. | | | |

| Initial blast of berry aromas, then decanted 3 hours. This bottle is a little more together than my last six months ago. Wave of fruit aromas, backed up by flavors of vanilla cream, cherries, blueberries, and cedar. Oak and tannins are more abrupt and bitter than they should be -- they betray this wine’s rather pedestrian heritage and are the unrefined element keeping this wine from being great. Still, it’s not a bad drink at all for 13 bucks. One more point than last time -- 87 points.
Revisited the remainder of this bottle 24 hours later -- only a point or two better perhaps but much more enjoyable as the tannins have softened. This wine will definitely benefit from 3-4 years in the cellar but the dilemma is whether to dedicate badly needed cellar space to a sub 90 point wine... | | Randy Sloan Match Vineyards

| I'm with Rev, 84points. Not bad for $12.00. Could be better, though...
Have 5 more to go. Excellent bottle to bring with my non-wino friends. They'll love it.

| Not for me... I got plenty and have no intention of selling any. There seems to be a lot of impatience with this wine. I think it needs 6 months to a year to recover from its 11000 mile trip. I may change my mind eventually.. but not yet. For me the 01s are just hitting their stride. | | | |

| while i'm not a big fan of the MP cab, I have not given up on my MP shiraz and 9 and Integrity. Not to mention Henry's Drive, Shirvington and Parson's Flat. All very yummy in my book. | | | |
