• 2007 Mollydooker Cabernet Sauvignon Gigglepot - Australia, South Australia, Fleurieu, Langhorne Creek (10/5/2008)
  Unscrewed and did the "Mollydooker Shake." Inky purple hue. Forward aromas of black cherry, cherry cough syrup, black licorice, touch of cedar & eucalyptus. Super concentrated, even more so than the 2006. Obviously, this is Mollydooker so the huge flavors of jammy fruit are not surprising........however, the big, even slightly rough tannins are.........and they help carry the rich flavors of blackberry, cherry, coconut, menthol, & cassis on the lengthy finish (dare I say more elegant?). Additional nuances of clove and other spices develop with air. Great stuff.
  Really, this is quite interesting for a Mollydooker wine in that this Cabernet appears to have more than enough tannic structure and acidity for mid-term aging. Will have to wait at least another year before opening my next. (93 pts.)
