A fine ruby color with some bricking at the edge and a developed, complex nose of leather, plum jam with nuances of nuts. A mouthfilling palate of plums, rasberry and a hefty dose of Barossa chocolate backed up by sinewy tannins with good length. A very, very nice, powerful wine with a a good hefty kick to it. Probably nearing its peak but with lots of life left in it still.

Thank you for the note Mark. I must admit knowing nothing about this wine and how it performed before the 1996 vintage. Is the 1991 similar to either the 1996 or 1998-2000? Just wondering where my 1998's are going, and how the 1996 and other vintages I have had are in comparison to the 1991.

Stylistically, the 96 and the 98 a not dissimilar. The 96 has entered its drinking window on the 98 will probably hit it next year. From 91 to 98, the wine's were pretty consistent in style. From 99 they have changed.
