2004 William Fèvre Chablis Champs Royaux - France, Burgundy, Chablis (7/30/2006)WIML89,PURPLE89,NOWA,NOWS
Tasted July 30, 2006 at home. Opened and glass decanted in a Spiegelau Authentis Weiss Wein glass about 30 minutes before tasting, mostly to allow the wine to warm a bit. Straw to light yellow color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of orange blossoms, citrus oil, wet stones and apples. Flavors of apples, peaches, minerals and a little lemon zest. Good acidity, good balance. Crisp and clean on the palate. Light to medium bodied Chablis. Shows better at a slightly warmer temperature. Drink over the next 2-3 years. Based on the $16.99 per bottle price we paid at local retail I’d say the value here is recommended. Good QPR wine.
