Color is a bright yellow wiht a slight greenish hue. The aroma presents a grassy, earthy side, which is followed on the palate with by focused citrus and mineral notes framed in a creamy, buttery broth and tight acidity. Drink after 2004. 91

I picked up a bottle of the '98 last night for the main course of my birthday dinner, some type of scallop/shrimp/lobster sautee - I'm not cooking. Hope it pairs well. Any TNs?

It was rated high 80s by Steve Tanzer and should still be good. I tasted it at a dinner two years ago with brief notes. Paired with seafood bisque.

Aromatic nose with green apple, pears and bit of oak. (This was young wine then). Nicely structured with some acidity.

And Happy Birthday!

Correction - I had the '97. I thought it was awesome. I don't drink much white Burgundy, but this tasted quite good to me. Amazing complexity and depth with plenty of mineral/earth notes. No confusing this as a new world wine - it exudes terroir.

I'd definitely buy this again.

I'm always on the lookout 97 that are still hanging around. It didn't get the press that 96 or 95 did, but IMO it's a very good vintage, especially from less favored sites.

True but they are wines the need to be consumed quickly, in general.
