2001 Patrice Rion Vosne Romanee Les Suchots 1er cru - This was my contibution to the night. Fairly shut down aromatically, the fragrances of this wine never really took flight. However, I found the palate to be fantastic with a generous bowl of black cherries, raspberries, iodine, and peppery notes. Very well balanced with the acidity to age well, this is one for the cellar. Hopefully, with another eight to ten years, the aromatics will "release the hounds". Another delicious 2001 and a definite buy considering the prices of 2003's. Dont believe the hype people! The 2001's will be stunning with time.
