Deep ruby red. Earth, smoke with some fruits and flower hints. Light bodied with mild tannins and high acid. Seems a bit out of balance. Not much of a finish. Tried both with and without food. An off bottle??

Or it could be shut down. I had Pavelot's '01 Narbartons a few weeks back and it was nailed shut. Something was lurking underneath but the nose and palate were in hiding.

I'm just starting to explore Bug's so it is possible it's shut down. What is the drinking window on this one?

An off bottle?? My sense is that 99 was a more structured year for red burgs than people anticipated. Relatively all the 99's I've tried lately have been shut down.
