2002 Jean Marc Boillet Volnay (WIML91,NOWA,NOWS)

Tasted October 19, 2005 at an offline so brief comments. Opened and served immediately in Spiegelau Authentis Balloon Magnum glasses. Ruby turning towards garnet color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of red roses, crushed red currants, a touch of smoke and followed up with some flint. Palate of black cherries dominates in this young wine with some bitters, fennel and a touch of raspberry finish. Full bodied and well balanced. I’m recommending this wine be held a couple of years to soften a tad and then it will most likely be quite enjoyable over the next 5-10 years thereafter. I don’t know pricing my recommended nonetheless.
Joe-----Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone.
