1996 Dom. Laurent Chambertin Clos de Beze - Not decanted. Highly perfumed nose. Restrained at first but opened to show loads of bright berry fruit and a surprisingly subtle degree of muscle. Smoky and chocolatey with a solid note of well integrated oak. Super-smooth tannins and a sweet, medium length finish. Very good, maybe not as good as I expected.
