When I tasted this bottle this week, I thought about that Austin Powers bit where Dr. Evil goes off on his son (Seth Green) with a barrage of "Shh!!!" In short, don't even think about opening a bottle for a long time. Henri Gouges 2002 Nuits-St.-Georges 1er Les Pruliers (Nuits-St.-Georges, $55) Seth Green: So I want to open a NSG from Gouges this weekend... Dr. Evil: SHH!!! Seth Green: But I'm so tempt... Dr. Evil: SHH!!! Seth Green: But it is one of the best NSG producers... Dr. Evil: SHH!!! Seth Green: But I'm gonna decant for... Dr. Evil: SHH!!! Seth Green: But it'll go so well with the food I'm serv... Dr. Evil: SHH!!! Seth Green: Unbelieva.... Dr. Evil: SHH!!! (Seth exits, while hanging his head in shame... cue music for Charlie Brown's "Christmas Time is Here" ala Arrested Development)

Gouges red's are very tannic and tight in their youth. I've bought a few 02's and don't plan on opening one until later in the decade if not longer. Thanks for taking one for the team.

wow jaime, you just ain't a kidding. this baby was sooooo young, that convinced me that my 99's will stay sleeping for quite some time. hope to see you in dec.
