Dom. Laurent 1996 Clos de la Roche Series Rare
I have heard so much about the 2000% oak treatment that I was prepared for splinters. Not so, the oak was present in this bottle but well integrated and nice secondary nuance are developing here. Strong note of mushroom/truffle, not a lot of barnyard really.
Blood orange, tea, still got some cherry.

I presume you mean
200
percent. 2000% would take a helluva lot of new barrels.

I assume 2000% was a joke, wineaux. You can't have more than 100% of anything.

Sometimes you can have more than 100%, particularly if you're Dominique Laurent. Here's a link on EBob to a discussion of his wines where his 200% new oak treatment is mentioned:

Whiner, when a winemaker says they use 200% new oak this typically means they use one new oak barrel for half the time in the barrel and then use another new oak barrel for the second half of the time in barrel. This is a real expensive way to make wine as barrel costs are twice what would be normal (if one uses all new oak every year).

Ah, thanks skwid. I'd never heard of that.

Yes, just a joke and hyperbole.
200% like Skwid said.
