Served at dinner at the St. Paul Grill in, you guessed it, St. Paul, MN.

I did not take notes since I was with customers, but the wine was the hit of the evening. Dark color, slightly muted fruit, but it did open up as the meal progressed. I got limited exposure to the wine since it was so well liked, it disappeared amazingly quickly. Funny how self-professed non-wine lovers can become wine lovers when facing a good wine.

This was the last bottle of the 2001 that they had on premises.

Very enjoyable wine, very drinkable now although I'd suggest it will hold its own for awhile.

WDoT says 91 points.

Had this about six weeks ago at a restaurant with no storage and pathetic glasses. Poured without decanting it had a nice body with full mouthfeel, full berry flavors. With a group that doesn't drink much, it was well-received. Not really worth the typical $60+ retail shelf price, but worthy of 90 pts today. Another year would do this well in my book.
