Is anyone familiar with their wine?  Its a meritage, and they sent out an email that has some hype that concerns me due to its similarity to another well-known napa winery:
"Our most recent accolade is from the 2007 Auction Napa Valley, which took place earlier this month. In its first year of participation, Blackbird Vineyards' barrel auction lot impressively placed in the top five out of 110 barrel lots. Furthering its position that Pomerol inspired Merlot and Cabernet Franc wines can compete directly with Napa Cabernet Sauvignons, Blackbird’s 2005 Bordeaux Blend was the only red wine not crafted primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon to place in the top ten. Read the press release or a blog on the barrel auction by James Laube of Wine Spectator."

I can't remember why I signed up on their mailing list.  Doesn't look like it was mentioned here...

I've had each vintage at least a couple of times.  Its a very good wine that is fully priced imo.  The owner knows how to play the game on multiple levels and I anticipate that buzz will increase on this wine over at least the short to medium term.

Had the merlot in a double blind tasting tonight. Not sure of the price point, but it was a very well made Merlot.

From the mailing list, the 04 clocks in at $80 a bottle.
