I passed on the mailer offering ($110), opting for only whites instead. This has now shown up in my local store at $105. It usually NEVER makes it to retail in my neck of the woods leading me to believe that many like me passed, leaving a surplus. Parker was cool to this particular bottling (87-87 IIRC). Any Vinocellar experiences ou there? With a mixed case, my net cost would be about $90. Buy nor pass? Thanks for your thoughts.

Tanzer and Parker disagree on the 2000 but are closer on the 2001. Tanzer liked the 2000 better than Parker and rated it 92. Sadly I would probably buy this at $90. This is one I've never had a chance to taste.

winetex: Parker's preliminary score on the '01 is 91-94. In your post, you write that Tanzer liked the '01 better than Parker and gave it a 92. Did you mean that Tanzer liked the '00 better??

Tanzer gave the 2000 a 92 and the 2001 a 93-96.

IMO, the 00 is skippable unless you find it discounted strongly, but the 01 is a bottle or 3 pickup.

I had this at a tasting of over 300 wines a few months ago and it was the wine of the day. A definite buy. The 2001 is better though.
