Do not know why but the website has two prices on the same wine.

If you read the fine print, the price to WA state residents is $159.99; for CA, Illinois, NM, OR, Texas and WVa it's $139.99...

Also in the fine print: orders by CA residents are limited to 262 bottles (750ml) per transaction.

And: this wine is "served best" with Costco item #950444 (tenderloin steaks).

Damn. I was going to order, except for that damn 262 bottle limit! I just can't get by on less than 300 bottles.

Great, a lower price than I bought on futures. That sucks. I was hoping for a RMP 100.

I was looking at Pape Clement on their site which is about $10 to $14 cheaper than the prices in the Bay Area. However, I don't like their "normal" storage conditions; I don't know anything about how they ship; and I assume that you have to pay CA tax. For that reason, I bought local.

Does anyone have experience with shipping charges for wine from Costco.com? I've been eyeing the 2003 Rieussec for $42+ but keep thinking I will see it in the store one of these trips. I've been looking at shipping fees lately like corkage fees!

I've bought a bottle from Costco online before... It arrived in decent condition in a styro-wine shipper.

Got me curious on shipping prices so I did a quick look trial run...

1 bottle standard shipping ~$12.00.
3 bottle standard shipping ~$14.20.
6 bottle standard shipping ~$17.50

3 bottle express shipping ~$24.55
6 bottle express shipping ~$27.00

Those above prices were to the Bay Area, They were a bit cheaper to Orange County (about a dollar difference up to 3-4 dollars for express....) I'd guess they might ship out of So-Cal??

This was also quoted on the Pavie, not sure if it would be different pricing for different wines?

Any idea how long the shipping took? The 7-10 days via ground is a pretty scary disclaimer. The good news is that I thought they were shipping from WA. If from So Cal, it's not so bad.

Unfortunately, this was a long time ago that I ordered from them, and I couldn't say for sure how long the shipping took.

I have no idea where they ship from I was just guessing since it was cheaper in Orange County vs. S.F. Bay Area. They could in actuality ship from WA. It has been so long I don't even remember looking at the tracking info to see where the origin was from.

The wine is shipped from Ontario, California. There are some risks ordering from Costco (quality of storage being a major issue), but on the upside, they have a "no questions asked" return policy and the wine can be returned at any local store.

I saw this earlier this week and ordered 6 bottles tues. I paid for express shipping just to be safe and it arrived on thursday. I bought futures for the same price 2-3 years ago from K&L and they have not notified me yet.
